Dr. Michael Kamrava’s implanting such a high number of embryos is unprecedented and a radical departure from medical-community standard practice, but Nadya Suleman didn’t regret it one bit. Where others would be terrified, she was excited. It turns out eight of the 12 embryos stuck, and Nadya became pregnant with eight children at once. There is a difference, though, between what a person desires and what they can actually handle. And that was the central question: Was Nadya Suleman physically able to give birth to eight babies at once, after already having done so six times before? She’d find out soon enough.
