Sidney Poitier has always stupified his fans with his exceptional acting skills. This first African American Oscar-winning actor has done several movies that featured mixed race couples. It was indeed a big deal at those time. He also got himself involved in the civil rights movement.Prior to all these things, in 1943, he has also served in the Army when the country was fighting WW2. And the best part is that this big star lied about his age to get enrolled in the army. He was working with mental health ward and pretended insanity to get free of it.
