The art collector, poet, and writer, Gertrude Stein does not hold a good reputation when it comes to her decision during the world war 2. She was an American and Jewish who supported the most controversial leader of that time. i.e. Hitler and his Nazi regime. She wanted to free the Jewish from the concentration camp and did some translation in the Nazi party for people. She also rooted for Vichy France.
