There’s More To It

Steve continued reading the note, “I’ve finally found true love, and he’s just great! I especially love his cute piercings, sexy scars, cool tattoos and his big motorcycle!” Steve was embarrassed and he started to question his upbringing. He thought to himself that when and how his daughter drifted so far that she now found some random tattooed guy appealing. Could it get anymore worse?  And yes it was about to…

Too Much To Handle

“And that’s not all,” the letter continued. “I’m expecting a child with Muhammad, and I’m already four months pregnant. We’re going to settle down in his trailer, and he says that he wants even more children. I’m so happy!” Every parent’s dream of the day when they get to see the face of their grandkids but I’m sure that they don’t imagine or even think of such scenarios,  not certainly like this, no one wants their teenage daughter to have a bun in the oven.

What The Hell?

It was as if Steve didn’t even get a second to sit down and think through this, the note bombarded shocks after shocks and it didn’t just stop here. “And guess what? We’re going to get married next week!” Married? Never in his wildest dreams, Steve had ever imagined his teenage daughter getting pregnant at the tender age of 16 or to get married or start a family of her own that too with a random tattooed motorcycle riding guy. He pinched himself to see if it was a nightmare but he realized that it was happening for real. While this was just enough to give Steve a heart-attack, the next line turned out to be the icing on the cake.

A Nightmare Scenario

Anna certainly had  a lot of things to say and confess as the letter went on alleviating her dad’s worry. “The job pays pretty well, 50 dollars per take, and I get another 50 if there are more than three men in the same scene. So don’t worry about me – I’m 16 years old and can take care of myself, xoxo, Anna.” Okay! This needs no further explanation, Steve was at the point where he regretted being alive to witness this day. It was as if he had never known who exactly his daughter was, and he just fell on Anna’s bed as a million thoughts raced through his head.

Ain’t Over Yet

It was a moment of sheer disbelief for Steve. He just lied on Anna’s bed thinking what to do now but his mind didn’t function. He was caught in a moment of absolute shock, he felt numb, almost as if he had been paralyzed. From what he read, his daughter turned out to be the exact opposite of what he thought of her. But it wasn’t just over yet. Steve was yet to read the post script.

P.S.

Somehow Steve made it to the bottom of the letter without having a stroke. “P.S. Dad, none of this is true, I only came over to Emma’s place to watch some TV. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than The Patriots losing to The Eagles!” Steve read the last line twice, as it took him time to understand what was going on.
