Always On

What another striking thing about Tom is that unlike many other actors he never got stereotyped. This is truly his character in Magnum P.I made him memorable among the public and this is also true he soon begun to be known as Thomas instead of Tom among the masses. But he made sure he does not get trapped in that by making guest appearances in popular shows like Friends, in which he appeared as Monica’s boyfriend, The Closer and the Las Vegas. Now working in Blue Bloods, the man is all set to rock even this time.

Kingly Moustache

Tom Selleck was more famous for the iconic mustache that made him stand out from the rest. He still wears the mustache that inspired many other prominent figures from Will Ferrell to Nick Offerman character of Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation.

Taking On Politics

After making an indelible impression in Hollywood, the man took to the politics. Known for going his own way the man did not hesitate from taking his stand even if that racks controversy. In an interview, he opened up and said that he is known as “a registered independent with a lot of libertarian leanings.” He also has the membership of  NRA. And also not to forget his take on Rosie O’Donnell while supporting the very organization on her show.

Love Is Everywhere

Just like his professional life, his personal life was too blossoming. The love entered his life for the first time when he met model Jacqueline Ray. However, their relationship did not last long and the two divorced after living 11 years together in 1982. What he initially considered a bliss turned out to be a reason behind his separation from his wife.

Getting Married

After a short term of dating, Tom tied the knot with Jacqueline Ray in 1971. Shortly after the marriage Tom and his wife adopted a baby boy. However, their marriage could not last more than a decade and the couple parted their ways in 1982. As it is believed everything has a negative and positive aspect both. His constant promotional tours for Magnum P.I kept him away most of the time from his family and that is the reason why a chasm occurred between him and his wife that ultimately led to their divorce. It was not the only setback he suffered there were more.

Turning Down

Tom was offered the role of Indiana Jones in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. The project no doubt excited him a lot but despite his interest, he could not give his nod to the project. The producer of Magnum P.I forced him to turn down the offer that could have proven the milestone for his career. That was the second loss he suffered apart from the destruction of his marriage due to his show.
