Queen Fabiola and King Baudouin, 1960

Queen Fabiola was a Spanish nurse before becoming the wife of  King Baudouin of Belgian. The announcement of their wedding did surprise the public but what surprised them, even more, was the fabulous dress the bride wore on her special day. She chose Cristóbal Balenciaga, who also is a Spaniard to design her dress. The gown has a high neckline with a drop waist and the 7-meter long train that still can be witnessed in the Balenciaga Museum of Spain. She perfected her bridal look with a tiara and white silk glove.
