Shar-Peis are one of the oldest dog breeds that come from China, Just like Chow Chows the images of Shar Peis were used for the decoration of building and object during the reign of Han dynasty and after that. Unlike Chow Chows, this breed was bred to accompany in hunting. They were used to hunt wild boars. They were quite successful in it as their spiking fur and loose skin enabled them to move out of a boar’s hold. Their this uniqueness also made them fighting dogs. Meat mouth the western version of Shar-Pei share very few commonalities with the Chinese version that is called “bone mouth.” They have been ranked 134th in the American Kennel Club. They have a lifespan of 10-12 years.
