While their conversation with Joyce over the phone call had only puzzled Carla and Gladys it also dropped them an interesting hint as to what the surprise about the property was. Joyce was a 96-year-old woman and she was quite communicative for her age, and what’s more impressive was that she had a perfect hearing. Carla felt nostalgic, replaying the old conversations she had with her grandmother and how she had to yell at the peak of her voice to make herself understood. Hence, Carla was quite amazed and impressed with Joyce at the same time but this would be nothing compared to what awaited them at Joyce’s place.
