Dick Fosbury
Dick Fosbury is an American retired high jumper. He started working on jumping techniques from age sixteen. It was the result of his experimentation that he introduced his own backward style to the game, which later came to be known as Fosbury Flop. This style involves a curved running approach, a modified scissor jump as well as back layout, where jumper lands on his shoulders and neck. He also has made the yet to be broken record of high jump Olympic. He has won the NCAA title in 1968. He was inducted in Hall Of Fame in 1993 and now is serving as the member of the “Champions for Peace” that is consisted of highly efficient athletes working to maintain world peace through sports.
