Mannequin Overboard?

Similarly, another shipwrecked ghost ship was found in September in 2017. The ship looked extremely normal from outside but had some unexpected objects inside. The ship as expected was not vacant but had a mannequin and a velvet rose. On going further inside, they saw a sign that read “The beatings will continue until morale improves.” Interestingly, the boat washed out to sea because of hurricane Irma. However, the owner could not get it as he was in prison.

Independence

The Myanmar Navy had no clue about how the ship made it to Myanmar. However, they had tracked two ships one day ago on the radar. Perhaps, the ghost ship was one of them. If yes, then where was the other? Soon after, the navy found Independence, a tiny tugboat. The cargo ship was carrying that boat.

Final Destination!

Whereas Sam Ratulangi was all empty, Independence did have some passengers. There were 13 crew members on the ship. The authorities caught them all for questioning. The members admitted that they were steering the Sam Ratulangi but the ship strayed because of rough weather. They further stated that they were planning on taking the vessel to Bangladesh to sell that to the shipbreakers. The buyers would dismantle it to get some money out of it.

Ship Breaking

Shipbreaking has emerged as one of the big business of today’s time. Usually, Modern ships last around 25 to 30 years. However, it does not mean that each and every part of the ship becomes obsolete. Some workable items still remain onboard. The owners can sell those expensive yet useless part to the shipyard and make some extra money.

Cutting Loose

So where did they find the ship? Well, the crew members were sailing in their small boat when they came across it. By seeing it only, the members realized that it was captainless. They were not in the mood to let such a giant ship go so they decided to take it over. After getting it into their control, they decided to take it to Bangladesh. They would have succeeded in their mission had the weather not taken the turn for worse.

Not The Only One

The mystery was unfolding bit by bit. On further inspection, Navy found that the cargo ship was not hauled for the first time. Sam Ratulangi was hauled by a tugboat other than Independence. They deduced it after seeing a second line fastened to the boat. However, that tugboat dropped the plan of hauling it to the planned destination. So what else did they find?
