Jordanian tug of war

Two guests at this Jordanian news station were discussing the Syrian Civil War when things got out of control. One was accused of supporting the Syrian revolution, the other of supporting Bashar Assad. While insulting each other, they proceed on to fighting using the table as a weapon. After breaking the prop, they kept on fighting using the detached table top and one of them even kicked the other’s shin before someone separated them. No legal action took place.

Sleeping on the job

It is bad enough that you fall asleep on the job but it is even worse if your job includes standing in front of a camera. As an excuse, this happened on an early morning show. Tucker Carlson fell asleep during the ad break and kept sleeping when the show came back on the air. What shocks me the most is the fact that his co-hosts did not wake him up. Guess they were in need of a laugh that morning.

He’s no ninja!

News reporter Rob Leth was judging a toboggan race live on-air in a good position to see the finish race. However, what may have looked exciting at first took a sudden change. When he noticed that he was in one of the toboggans’ path, he tried to jump over it. That did not work out that well for him as he flipped in the air, landing on his head. He ended up muttering that “that was a bad idea.” Next time, try to get out of the way instead.

Un inconvenient picture

If some of these events may have hurt audience susceptibility, none did so as this one. During the coverage of a helicopter crash, Denver’s Fox31 news team was scrolling through the Twitter feed. The first picture was in accord with the context. You can’t say the same about the following ones… Edward Scissorhands. An omelet. Then, a  d*** pic on-air. The team tried to act cool as if nothing happened.

Unintentional drawing

On the topic of d**** , Reporter Siobhan Riley became famous after accidentally drawing what looked like one of those. She was mapping a construction in Saginaw and no one could avoid noticing the resemblance to a p***s drawing. Well, no one except her. She seemed to be clueless about what she drew. Later on, the station’s news director commented: “This was an innocent mistake on behalf of the reporter. In no way was it intentional.”

Time and a camera

Talk show host Glenn Beck seems to have difficulties keeping his primitive instincts to himself. In a segment about nude photos, Dina Sansing, his guest, got asked by him “I’ve got some time and a camera. Why don’t you stop by?”. She did handle the situation gracefully. What is even more upsetting is the fact that he had already done a similar comment to another guest a year before. You couldn’t just wait until the break, could you, Glenn? Learn from your mistakes.
