Easily Scared
It was indeed a strange situation, Annette had to do the research work to actually understand what actually was going on. She learned that the deer jumps into the lake only when they get scared suddenly by someone. The same thing must have been done with the deer. Most probably while running away from the predator it must have fallen into the lake.
Back To The Safety
Joe was running out of ideas and time both. He asked his friend who had joined them for the picnic for help. Guy Peterson, pushed himself into the lake and then swam towards the animal only to bring it closer to the boat. Joe then got the frantic animal in his hand and got him back to the safety.
How It Feels
Now the little deer was on the ship all safe. Joe explains the situation, “Once he got up on the boat, he pretty much hopped right down on the floor and laid there.” “We covered him up with a towel. It didn’t even try to run away or anything,” he said.
Duty Is On
Their duty was not over yet! After rescuing the deer, they had to take it back to the place where it came from. They headed towards the land to find his group. But before that, they covered the deer in a dry towel and waited for his racing heartbeat to come down to normal.
Got Anything?
Well, there was a crowd waiting for them on the shore. They all seemed excited to know what the family had caught. Annette reminisced them shouting, ‘Did you catch anything?’ from fishing, you know.” She continued, “And my husband holds it up and says, ‘Just the baby deer!’
A Hero
The crowd was expecting a boatload of fish as they usually come back with. But this time they had something very strange to put on display. Though the team had no catch to show off what they had brought with them did make them a hero in public eyes. The tired deer was back to land. Now, what the family was going to do?
