Life-Threatening Disease

The puppies had developed mange. It is a communicable disease that is caused by mites. These dogs had been residing in the contaminated environment for long and due to that, they had caught this dangerous disease. Carson explains “Most rescuers didn’t want to pick up the puppies for fear that they’d infect other dogs in their care.” The rescuers were hesitant to touch this group as they did not want other dogs to be infected by it. In order to save them, they would need to touch them and touching them might be very risky.
