A Scared Bird

“We’re just fishing a normal spot up here and we were walking by a tree that was relatively close to the water,” Sauer revealed. “As soon as I walked by it, I felt the bird come right by out of its nest. I scared it more or less.”

Wrong Side

The bird was indeed looking for ways to escape its nest but ended up flying the wrong way. So instead of touching down on safe on the safety of the ground, it fell into the center of the lake.

An Animal Lover

I just watch it hover like 60 yards out to the middle of the water and it lands directly in the middle of the pond,” Sauer recollected. “So, me being the animal lover that I am, I feel bad for it.”

A Struggling Bird

However, he did not want to be a disturbance. “I start thinking, you know, fish eats it, the cycle of life, kinda cool to see,” Sauer further explained. “I feel bad for it, but what are you going to do. Like 25 minutes go by and it’s still struggling.”

Attracting The Labrador’s Attention

Sauer was that the bird was still struggling and that Jax’s attention was spiked. Now although Sauer remained unaffected by the fledgling’s plight, the lab could not contain himself.

His Master’s Command

Sauer was now convinced that he had to step in. “I just said, ‘Jax get the bird,’ that I would say any other time if we’re hunting or whatever I do with him.” Jax went into the water, full swing.
