Luxurious Bedroom

The bedroom was well maintained. In fact, there was hardly any modern thing that was not there in the bedroom. No one could ever figure out how they used to do that. Even the antique dealer was surprised at seeing a teacher having such a luxurious life. But what he found next plunged him into a big dilemma.

Attraction

There was a painting hanging on one of the walls of the bedroom. He felt a strange attraction towards the painting and when he stepped closer to watch it closely, another realization dawned upon him. The man had sweat streaming down his forehead. He had something on his mind, was that right?

Taking It Up

However, he did not say a word and bought the painting along with other assets at $2,000. He took all the assets to his town Silver City. The place is known for being the home of many local and respected artist. Some of those artists made their way to Auker’s antique store.

Center Of Attraction

One of the antique lovers entered Auker’s store and got mesmerized by the painting he had brought from Alter’s house. He said that this could be the art of eminent Dutch artist Willem de Kooning. The artist who belonged to Netherland was well renowned for his excellence in abstract expressionism. If this piece of art was an original one then it must be worth of tens of millions of dollars. But he laughed it off thinking how a teacher would afford an art piece worth of millions.

The Prominent Painter

De Kooning had earned himself fame with his excellence in abstract expressionism. His artistic pieces flamed the mid-century abstract expressionist movement. The towering personality took his last breath in 1997. “Woman-Ochre” from the series of “Woman III,” that got sold for $137.5 million in 2006. Till now the work of Kooning is one of the most marketable in the world.

 The Search For The Truth

He did not take the claim seriously until it got backed by many other people making the same claim. He began to wonder what if the claims are true. Though the chances were minimal he really needed to take a shot. He turned to the internet to do research on that painting. What he found next was very surprising.
