Where Did You Come From?

The woman dropped the thoughts of where the cat could be and took the wise decision of calling a nearby animal rescue organization named The Mayhew Animal Home. Now, after handing over the little kittens in the hand of the experts, the florist and the woman felt relieved. But, they were still worried about the mother cat that was missing from the scene. Where was she?

A Family of Kittens in Need

Various thoughts regarding where the cat could be popped in the florist’s mind. She discarded the thought of the cat being caught by any other animal as the mother was experienced in surviving in wild. It was very important for the cat to return as the kittens were totally dependent on her. The florist was scared of considering the fact of the cat being picked up by any person for being domesticated.

Volunteers to the Rescue!

The experts from the animal shelter provided some respite by escorting the kittens to shelter, they also made a keen search all around the building so as to check for any more kittens. After assuring themselves that there were only 4 kittens, they declared them healthy after conducting several medical checks.

The director of the animal shelter, Tania Mazzoni, drifted away from all the possibilities of the mother cat being kept as a pet by someone. The reason is that the cat was feral. So, they decided to set traps in order to capture the cat if she returns, which they were highly hopeful for.

Capturing Mama

Luckily, the experts were proved right, as in no time they had the mother cat in their trap which looked like a trap for rats but was bigger than it. Without wasting a second, they did its check up and after finding it healthy, kept her back from where she had been picked up. It was under the “Trap, Neuter and Return Program” in which they followed this process. What seemed to be a very smooth ending for the experts, quickly turned into something else.

It All Began in 1996

It was in order to decrease the number of feral cats, which had become a common sight on the streets of London that in the year 1996,”The Trap, Neuter, and Return Program” was initiated.  This program helped the mother cat completely, but there was still a major twist related to the lives of the baby kittens.
