Scorching Heat

It all dated back to the year 2010, when a scorching heatwave found its way to New Milford, Connecticut. For nearly 96 hours, the city faced extremely high degrees of climate. The environment was burning. To make matters worse, the area faced drought. Charlie then took things in his hand and decided to help the countrymen in the most generous way. It was this way that Velvet used eight years later in his memory.

Charlie’s Cooler

To serve his nation and its people, Charlie during that heatwave constructed a cooler for all the public workers. He used the icebox and filled it with drinks and kept it in the front lawn of his place. Everyone who passed by that cooler appreciated and thanked Charlie for being so kind. So to keep his memory alive, eight years later when the country again faced the same heatwave, she followed her husband’s footsteps.

Doing The Same

Velvet knew what place that cooler had in lives of all the workers and how important it was for Charlie as well. He had always loved helping people. She took the same cooler and filled it with water, beverages when in 2018, the country was going through the same phase. However, Velvet never expected that this gesture would impart such reactions from everyone around.

Touching Gesture

Along the cooler, Velvet also wrote a note that informed everyone that Charlie had passed away at the age of 57 due to a heart attack. Moreover, she also wrote that she would put her best foot forward in order to provide people with water in such a hot water. This was the best way she could have kept her husband living in the lives of everyone. Soon only she discovered what exactly do the people think about her husband.

Informing Everyone

Velvet spread the message of this cooler setup through entire Connecticut using the social media platform. People got to know about Charlie and showed there deepest sympathies and condolence to his family. Not only this, Velvet in her post even mentioned that she did in this in honor and tribute to Charlie, her husband, her heart.

Something Strange

The entire community came forward and supported and thanked Velvet for her touching gesture. The very first users of the cooler happened to be the riders of a garbage truck who stopped at the  Poveromo house to satisfy their thirst. But when the saw the note on that cooler they immediately backed off. Why?
