Stepping Stone

It was in 1949, the Soviet Union carried out its first test. It was a success. The reason behind it was that the Soviet’s espionage had successfully fetched all the details regarding the U.S. Manhattan Project along with the Trinity test conducted on 16 July 1945. The device used by Soviet was also similar. From thereon August 29 was celebrated as the day when this remarkable test took place. Well, that was just the beginning. The Soviet Union had miles to go. Confident and inspired from the success the team went on to expand its research. All this resulted in the setting up of two special plants. Everything seemed sorted except for the fact that both of the things were above ground that definitely was going to hinder the process.
