The Mysterious Item

There have been times when the workers have discovered some hidden objects while renovating the house. They have found old coins hidden inside the walls, old postcards, or letters, and valuable artifacts too. But this item was far more interesting and amazing than all other discoveries ever made. So what was it? Let’s dive into the discovery…

The Discovery

What appeared to be an ordinary rolled piece of cloth which they found in the chimney was something they had to transfer it to the local museum. It wasn’t something they could understand as it required the eyes of a specialist. The experts worked on that discovery and were left astonished by it. It was that interesting.

The Local Museum

That thing was taken to the National Library of Scotland for further investigation. When the item arrived the experts weren’t expecting that it would be this big but when they opened it, all they could just do was to stare at that thing with eyes and mouth wide open. Nobody was prepared for it. It was a life-changing discovery for everybody there. They weren’t able to control their emotions and everybody wanted to get their hands dirty.

It Was A Map!

That item the workers found was a map which was from the 17th century! But the question was what kind of a map? A treasure map? Or a map of some another world? Before they could tell anything for sure they needed to check it first. Which wasn’t as easy as we think. It required patience and hours long hard work. But experts were ready to go at any length to understand the map. So what did they find out?

Limited Edition Artifact

Back then acquiring a map was a status symbol for the owners who possessed it. Only wealthy families were able to afford such thing but this map was far from ordinary and only a few were able to get a hold of this map. So who was the owner and who made this map? With time they found out everything about it.

How Big?

When the team started working on it they were surprised to see that it was seven feet long and five feet wide. While they were not able to know its true name so they gave it a temporary name and called it “Chimney Map.” The team was putting the pieces together to make it public for the locals. It was to be hung in the museum as the special artifact. But where did it come from?
