Canadian actor Sutherland’s first trade of choice was becoming an engineer and was even a radio DJ for a while before settling on acting. He started out small and only had minor roles in films and television series before his big break in the war film The Dirty Dozen where he played a minor role. But his electric blue eyes and towering frame soon caught the eyes of many casting directors, and he was soon getting cast in a lot of projects.
