On being asked about helping an unknown man, both the brothers replied, “[Childs’ story] just touched our hearts,” Xavier expressed WSB-TV News their reaction when they first heard his hardships. Their restaurant was doing well and the brothers were then in a position to decide where they could pay it forward. Theo expressed,“[The car] definitely will help him get around and give him a better opportunity”.

The Makeover

Many people got to hear Childs’ story and some of them could help. Everyone tried to help him in their ways. A barber reached out to Childs for helping him to have a haircut. He tried giving him a fresh haircut so that he could enhance the chances to score better-paid jobs. The incident paved the way with new job opportunities for Childs as everyone got to see how hardworking and honest Childs was.

Not For Granted

Childs could never think of taking community generosity for granted. He was all set to start his new job and the journey of life in July. The young dad felt so supported by the community and promised to work even harder so that he does not let any of his people down. In his interview with  WSB-TV News, he expressed that “Everything I do I want to work for it”. He felt inspired and was encouraged to do even better in his life.

Showers Of Blessings

Childs understood that luck and fate could turn the tables. thanking the community was not enough in his eyes. Moreover, Childs was blessed as the community was showing their generosity to an extent. Locals could not see Childs sleeping at McDonald’s anymore, therefore, they donated a hotel room for Childs and his son until he got his shelter.

Online Help

GoFundMe set up for Childs was an online help forum that accumulated funds for him to help him financially. Childs, while having an interview with SB-TV News states, “I actually want to use everything I’m getting from this and help other homeless people”. On being trolled for the very first time, he felt extremely adverse, but he felt the same no more.

No Hard Feelings

Knowing all his stories, Cofield planned to meet him and apologize for her wrongdoing. Her angry eyes then turned to be sympathetic. She could feel sorry for Childs. On that note, Childs said, “I’m no longer sleeping in a McDonald’s, so that’s good. I feel great.” He completely understood that Cofield was unaware of the situation and the reaction was instantaneous.
