As time passed, the Wisconsin ice sheet started to melt which was the reason behind the shape of the lake we see today. Due to the ice shift in the past, the landscapes around the lake is in abundance with geological features such as kames, moraines, and drumlins. In layman’s terms, the area has a lot of hills, ridges, rocks, gravel, and sand deposits.
