Ripping It Off

As the duo started to peel off the carpet from different corners, they felt something was broken under it. Eventually, the carpet was removed and they noticed a round shaped cut on the floor. Why would anyone spoil their floor like that? Both of them looked at each other and knew that they were growing more and more curious about it.
