What’s There?

Oliver gazed at the muddy pond, expecting to see something, but it was empty. This confused him. He wondered, “How could this be?” It was as though something had made a big splash and vanished into thin air. The mystery deepened, leaving him curious about what had caused the disturbance and where it had gone.

Just a few hours before, he and his wife had been enjoying the sun, sitting on the bench, when he heard and saw movement from the pond. How could something that was so clearly there just suddenly disappear? Things weren’t adding up and before long, Oliver realized it didn’t just disappear.
