J. Cole

J. Cole is a hip hop artist and record producer. In 2007, he came with his debut ‘The Come Up’ which famed him as a successful American hip-hop recording artist. Then in 2011, he came up with his debut studio album titled ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’. The other artists have commented about his struggle of being a biracial artist. This is denied by J.Cole as he said he has just experienced both sides. His father is African American and mother is white American.
He argued, ”I don’t think I’d be aware of the inequalities if I wasn’t in these classes with all white kid. But then all my friends outside of class are not in these classes—and I see what happens in their classes or right down the street at the school that was my district, the school I was supposed to go to. They don’t even have books to take home. But why my school, which is 60 percent white, why does it have more than enough? I don’t think I’d have been aware of that had I not been brought up with a white mother.”
