Now, the four sister show how much they resemble one another. Taken in Cincinnati in 1981, this photo reveal the girls as they bask in the sunlight. From the looks of it, it must be a warm summer day in Cincinnati with no smile to be found.

This was snapped all the way in Ipswich, Massachusetts where the sisters have changed the tone of their clothing. It must be winter, judging from the fact that they are all wearing jackets and sweaters. The photographer, Nixon, showed his work for the first time at the Museum of Modern Art on July 22, 1976, only two years into the project.

In Allston, Massachusetts in 1983 the girls lined up yet again. All have donned their white tops and it looks a little warmer than the previous photo. There is a hint of smiles on their faces but not enough to convince us that they are enjoying themselves.

This next photograph was reportedly taken in Truro, Massachusetts in 1984. They seem to have entered motherhood based on their features. So, were they mothers when this picture was taken? you, Nixon! It is so hard to tell…

This photo was supposedly clicked in Allston, Massachusetts. Now there is an interesting fact this time. The ¨Nicholas Nixon: Forty Years of The Brown Sisters, ¨series was on view at the Museum of Modern Art until January 4, 2015.

This was allegedly taken in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1986 consisting of the sisters looking mercilessly at the camera once more. How could they maintain such a straight face pose for so long? There must be a good enough explanation.
