Dinner With Her?

Since she sang about working 9 to 5, seeing her as a businesswoman is not something surprising. Dolly has had investments in businesses in Eastern Tennessee. Owning her own Dollywood theme park that is co-managed by her Dollywood Company umbrella, she even owns a Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, that is a  dinner theater show that goes across America.

Not A High Ride

Since she owns her own theme park, you would think Parton would be a roller coaster aficionado. Contrary to this, Dolly has never gotten on a ride at Dollywood because of her intense motion sickness. Since she would even get car sick on the school bus, her father had told her she could never dream of being a sailor or a pilot. It was fine because at least she had her music going!

A Seasoned Actress

Dolly was not happy with only having a career in music, she ventured into the business as an actress. He first acting gig was on ‘The Porter Wagoner Show’, and Dolly went on performing on stage and screen as an actress. She had her own show called ‘Dolly!’, then went on to play a sassy secretary in ‘9 to 5’. Parton also had a good review on her role in ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’, starring next to Burt Reynolds.

Her Own Style

Dolly starring as Miss Mona in ‘The Best Little Whorehouse’ wasn’t so absurd in the end. While Parton manages the movie’s ‘Chicken Ranch brothel’, she claims her sense of style to be inspired by a real-life lady of the night. While growing up, he revealed in an interview that she had a poster of a woman with yellow hair piled on top of her head, bright red lipstick, rouge, and high heels. This was her inspiration.

Her Love Life

Yes, Parton had time for love and certainly did not work continuously. The songstress got hitched to her long-time love Carl Thomas Dean in 1966. They tied the knot in Ringgold, Georgia, and Parton legalized her name changing it to Dolly Parton Dean, but professionally she kept her maiden name. Dean ran an asphalt paving company in Nashville, shying away from the public and has claimed to see Dolly perform only one time!

True Love

Even though Parton and Dean wanted to have their own kids, Dolly revealed in interviews that it was her destiny to be a mother of everyone instead of her own kids! She commends Dean on being a romantic that he is, revealing that he would often give her romantic surprises. They have proven to be such a strong couple, celebrating their golden anniversary with their loved ones, renewing their wedding vows!
