American gynecologist, Dr. Marci Bowers decided to undergo a surgery herself at the age of 19 but due to the lack of funds she couldn’t and had to wait for the next 20 years to get it done. She was married to a woman 11 years prior to having the surgery and has three kids. Luckily, the surgery didn’t have a negative impact on their relationship, as they live together as “sisters” now.
