This transgender man of German origin was a professional pole vaulter till 2007 when he decided to undergo a reassignment surgery. After the surgery, he changed his name from Yvonne to Balian. He named himself after the character of a blacksmith in the movie the Kingdom of Heaven. He is living his life happily now as a man.
