Married to a man running asphalt paving business, named Carl, on May 30, 1966, Dolly shares a very romantic bond with him and adores him a lot. Unfortunately, they don’t have children of their own but have raised some of Parton’s siblings. Interestingly, her husband Carl does not like to be in the limelight that much and hardly attends her wife’s events and performances. Their couple is an inspiration for all the young couples out there.
Plastic Surgery
Despite being blessed with extremely good looks, Dolly has undergone numerous procedures of plastic surgery. In an interview, Dolly had commented, “It’s like what I always say: I may look fake but I’m real where it counts. I’m quite content with who I am/And if you ain’t, well, kiss my ham.” She has been quite frank when it comes to speaking about her surgeries in the interviews. Dolly famously says, “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.”
Look-a-Like Contest
It would seem pretty silly to ask you that who has the best chances to win a Dolly Parton Look-A-Like contest if Dolly also participates. Surprisingly, this happened and she didn’t win. The contest was held at Santa Monica Boulevard, with all the participants dressed as Dolly Parton. Dolly said she “just walked up on stage…I didn’t win. I didn’t even come close, I don’t think.” On being asked the reason she said that it could have been a drag show as it was men who were dressed up.
Amusement Park Rides
Owning a whole amusement park would be so wonderful, ain’t it? Apparently not for Dolly Parton. It’s an amazing fact that despite owning Dollywood, she hasn’t ridden the rides in it. The reason is that she suffers from motion sickness. She says “My daddy used to say, ‘I could never be a sailor. I could never be a miner. I could never be a pilot,’ I am the same way. I have motion sickness. I could never ride some of these rides. I used to get sick on the school bus.”
Secret Tattoos?
Dolly and her tattoos have always been the talk of the town. Her habit of not wearing low-cut blouses or sleeveless dresses adds to the curiosity of the people. It was celebrities Roseanne Barr and Jennifer Saunders, of Absolutely Fabulous fame Stories who revealed the fact that Dolly is still getting herself inked when they saw her in a restaurant. After their encounter, Roseanne appeared on Craig Ferguson’s talk show and revealed, “I shouldn’t even tell this. Dolly Parton is totally tattooed…She showed me.” Roseanne continued, “She’s got all these awesome tattoos all over the body—no black or blue lines, all like, pastel gorgeous bows all over everything.” As assumed by many, the tattoos are meant to cover up scarring from her many enhancement surgeries.
Godmother of Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is a big fan of Dolly Parton to the extent that she considers Dolly as her Godmother. Parton has seen Miley as a baby and known her since then. She adores Miley a lot. The duo even gave a performance together where they sang the song ” Jolene” together. Dolly, believes that Miley is a very talented girl and can go a long way if she takes the right decisions.
