Billie Jean King became a sports legend in 1973, after winning the “Battle of the Sexes” – a tennis match opposite champion for males tennis player, Bobby Riggs. Her fame was further cemented when she came out as gay, the first leading female athlete to do so. Due to her prowess in the game and achievements, she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987. Her story was recently immortalized in the silver screen feature, Battle of The Sexes.
