Empathy Is Key

On the topic of the mother such as Angie, Toni Hicks from the Perinatal Special Care Unit at the Sharp Memorial Hospital, revealed that empathy was the most important thing. She had been working there for years and she says that expecting mothers who face complications just need others to motivate them and keep their thoughts positive.

A Little Assurance

Toni explains further, the kind of approach she used when she deals with pregnant women at the hospital saying, “They’re taken away from everything that’s normal,” she further stated. “So by telling them, you know, ‘I understand this is really hard for you,’ that’s huge for patients.” She wants people to know that being a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen is all that they need.

Babies A, B, C

Even though Angie’s pregnancy is a unique case, it is certainly not the first time this has happened. There have been many women who get pregnant with 3 babies at the same time giving birth to triplets. There is a medical team for this case. It is referred to as Babies A, B, and C. Angie and Gino could only hope that they all come out healthy.

As time went on, the couple discovered that Baby B was not getting enough fluid. This clearly had some effects on the baby. It ended up being a little smaller than the other two babies. Angie and Gino would have to wait to see the outcome of the baby as waiting was the only thing they could do. They just hoped and prayed that they got to see 3 babies.

32 Weeks In

Since the doctors did not want to take any chances, they kept a close eye on Angie still. They were very keen on her until the 32nd week of her pregnancy. They just wanted to see the 3 babies just like everyone else in the family. They had been so involved with her pregnancy that they felt the need to give their all. So what would become of the babies?

According To The Plan

So after doing everything they possibly could to maintain a healthy pregnancy, Angie was in labor after 32 weeks and one day into her pregnancy. This was such a relief for everyone because this meant that she had carried the babies without any further complications successfully. They were quite happy to know that everything went according to the plan.
