Doubts

He knew certain cops from his hometown but he had not seen Matthew before. He experienced an epiphany and hesitantly asked about the retired policeman’s age. At first, it would be awkward for anyone to answer that question to a stranger especially when the other person is older. But why did he asked such a question, what was going inside his mind?
