Housing 101

Housing 101

George was obviously helping and guiding Luke to do his work the right way. He was there to direct his son, teaching him how to frame a structure, wire the house, talking to grown-ups, financial decisions, and sticking to his budget. They were indeed necessary life lessons.

“It was a chance for a kid to do something more than play video games or sports,” Greg had explained, “It teaches life lessons.” Greg did the right thing in making his decisions too. As we can all see, today’s kids are always on their phones or tablets not involving themselves with their environment. He did not even need to hire a contractor to assist his dear son!

Luke actually earned his money by mowing lawns, raising his money online, and also by using reclaimed items. He even did some bartering to get his budget to build his simple yet practical house. There was a lot of planning that went into executing his house where some plans were chucked out and some went smoothly.

A Proud Dad

Proud Papa

George was very proud to see that his son showed dedication and efficiency to finish his construction project. “He’s a very driven kid for his age,” said George. “There were times the project got stalled out and he had to earn more money for the next phase. He wouldn’t let it go and kept working at it.”

Luke Thill’s Minimalist Approach

Minimalism

Luke did not have to do strange jobs to get his money. He did some recycling as well! He also used some other the siding leftovers from his grandma’s house and even a door that his father’s mate gave him. “I liked the minimalism,” Luke expresses, “And I wanted to have a house without a huge mortgage.” His goal was to finish a budget-friendly and simple house design for himself.

The Windows

Windows

His uncle’s friend did not help with just the door, he even gave Luke a few windows that he could make use of in his new house. After all, houses need windows right? Here’s hoping Luke does not have the trouble of experiencing a pesky annoying neighbor.
