The Original Whoopee Cushion

Emperor Elagabalus, a 14-year-old designed the first whoopee cushion. The young boy was also known as Rome’s “Decadent Boy Emperor.” He went on using the whoopee cushion during royal dinners. Many times he kept it under the chair cushions of royal members just to make a joke out of it.
