Blue Ice Monolith

nature photos
This looks like a giant wave frozen in place but this is not that. What see in this picture is a phenomenon called the blue ice. When there is snowfall and it gets compressed on a glacier so much so that it becomes a part of the glacier itself blue ice is formed. The color of ice is crystal blue because of the same reason the ocean’s color is blue. Here is some scientific information. Ice absorbs the red, yellow, orange and green wavelengths and therefore blue and violet is visible.
What about animals which are extinct but people believe they aren’t?

Tasmanian Tigers

nature photos
This is the picture of the now extinct species- the Tasmanian tiger also called the Tasmanian wolf. This thylacine is actually neither a wolf or a tiger. It was when in existence, the largest carnivorous marsupial.
In 1982 the International Union for Conversation of Nature declared thylacine extinct and consequently in 1986 the Tasmanian government too. Some people still believe that these wild animals are not extinct and claimed to have seen them.
Talking of extinct animals…

Mightiest Of Them All

Are you afraid of sharks? Of course, you are, so am I. What you see in this picture is the comparison of a shark and a Megalodon which is more than 4 times bigger. A megalodon could swallow 2 white sharks at a time! They would have been the largest and the most dangerous predators on the planet if they had not been extinct.

Have you ever wondered what happens when a bolt of lightning hits the water?

Lightning Water

nature photos
Water and electricity together? Not a good idea. Lightning electrifying water? Worse. A lightning bolt falling on the ground and the same falling in water are two very different things. A lightning bolt can be charged with 300 million volts. It takes far less to fatally harm a human. Water can be a carrier of electricity so if you are ever near water during thundering then get out of there soon.

Since we are on the topic of lightning, let’s take you to the place that witnesses the most dangerous lightning.

Everyday Storm, Venezuela

This sight might appear astonishing to you but this is almost a daily occurrence at Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. This is where the most lightning on earth happens because of the temperatures there. According to a NASA study, the place witnesses thunderstorms 300 days of the year!
Extended lightning can go on for 10 hours straight! Blessed be those who live nearby.
Talking of water, have you ever seen a flying fish?

Flying Fish

01 - Exocoetidae Flying Fish
Now this is a rare sight, isn’t it? This is a flying fish and it can make propelled leaps out of the water with their wing fins which enable them flight. This helps them to evade predators faster.
Next time when someone asks rhetorically have you ever seen a fish fly then you know what to answer.

When we think of water we think of fire and when we think of fire…
